Stative verbs what are they? how do I use them?
A stative verb is a verb which expresses a state instead of an action.
Stative verbs usually relate to our thoughts, brainwork, senses, relationships, emotions state of being and measurement.
Some examples of stative verbs are – love, hate, own, have, need, want,hear,smell,recognize,agree,appreciate,appear,know,weigh,wish.
We don’t usually use these in the continuous forms or with ing.
I really love him .
Not I’m loving him.x wrong
I need a coffee
Not I’m needing a coffee x wrong
I hear you
not im hearing you.x wrong
Exceptions
of course there are times when we can use stative verbs in the continuous form but we use them as an action verb.
Im having dinner. We use this to express eating dinner
Im seeing the doctor on Friday. We use it instead of meet.

you are being silly-action only now not usually.
